WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY 2026

In 2024 we brought you the “YB Wellbeing Weekender” raising funds and awarenss for World Mental Health Day.

This World Mental Health Day, we will be offering a selection of FREE classes and some great discounts during the weekend in the Yoga Borne Online Shop.

Yoga Borne is incredibly passionate about accessible and inclusive wellbeing, and we hope this will help.

Whilst we would have loved to make a weekend of it, we will be taking part in a conference all about wellbeing - very fitting!

To mark World Mental Health Day 2026, we’re offering a FREE 40-minute Yin Yoga class — a chance to pause, slow down and give yourself some space to breathe.

What is Yin Yoga?

Yin is a slower, quieter style of yoga where poses are generally held for a few minutes at a time, using props to help you find a comfortable, supported position.

Rather than focusing on flowing from pose to pose, Yin invites you to stay, soften and notice — creating time to tune into your body, your breath and how you’re feeling.

Why Yin?

Our physical and mental wellbeing are closely connected, and making time to slow down can be a valuable part of looking after both.

A Yin practice can offer:

• A chance to slow down and step away from the busyness of everyday life.

• Gentle movement and longer-held positions to support physical relaxation and mobility.

• A mindful opportunity to turn your attention inwards and become more aware of how you’re feeling.

• Time to simply be, without having to achieve, perform or rush.

It isn't about stretching as far as you can or doing anything perfectly. It's about finding a comfortable place to pause and listen to your body.

The class will be led by Veronica, who is fully qualified in Yin Yoga and brings a calm, welcoming approach to her teaching.

All equipment is provided, so just come along as you are.

Our 9:30am ENERGISE class gets the body moving and the energy flowing — and this free Yin session is the perfect way to follow it!

Or simply come along for the Yin — everyone is welcome.

All equipment provided.

World Mental Health Day is a reminder that looking after our mental wellbeing matters — and sometimes, taking 40 minutes to pause is a pretty good place to start.

End the day with rest — from wherever you are.

To mark World Mental Health Day 2026, join Yoga Borne studio owner Karine for a gentle online mindful meditation.

No journey to the studio, no special equipment and no experience needed. Just find yourself a comfortable spot, get cosy and give yourself a little time to pause.

What is mindful meditation?

Mindfulness is simply the practice of bringing our attention to the present moment — noticing what is happening in our body, our breath, our thoughts and our surroundings, without needing to change or judge any of it.

Meditation gives us a chance to step out of the constant doing of everyday life and create a little more space to simply be.

Why meditate?

Taking a few quiet moments for ourselves can be a valuable part of supporting our mental and emotional wellbeing.

Mindful meditation can help us to:

  • Slow down and create a sense of calm.

  • Connect with the breath and body.

  • Notice thoughts without getting caught up in them.

  • Create a little space between ourselves and the busyness of the day.

This isn't about emptying your mind or getting meditation “right”. It's simply an opportunity to pause, breathe and spend a little time with yourself.

From wherever you are.

Make yourself comfortable at home, dim the lights, grab a blanket or a cup of tea and join us online.

A gentle way to end the day, slow things down and give yourself some space.

Because wellbeing isn't just about what happens on the mat.

It’s about feeling seen, supported and connected. It’s about making space for ourselves and for one another.

Yoga can’t fix everything. But it can remind us to breathe, to listen, to connect — and to remember that we are part of something bigger than ourselves.
